Equipped with patented Squirrel Buster technology, this feeder holds up to 3/4 quarts (1.3 pounds) of bird seed, whether it's Black Oil sunflower seed or other seed blends specific to your area.
The bird feeder's openings in the bottom section of the metal mesh shroud align with the seed tray, providing birds access to the food. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically forces the shroud down, closing access to the seed. Squirrels and some large birds are blocked from accessing the seed, but are not harmed in any way. The feeder also includes a negative grip tube, which prevents squirrels from grabbing the wire hanger and defeating the closing mechanism.
The seed ventilation system allows hot and humid air to escape through vents at the top of the feeder, while fresh air enters the seed ports and openings on the bottom of the seed tube. This helps keep the birdseed fresher and attracts more birds.
